Mr. Sher's first lesson went great on Thursday. Outstanding participants included Darrian Robinson, Michael Peguero, and new star Alexis paredes! Let's hope we remember the 5 rules of pawn endgames in our tournament games

First Tournaments of the Year, ICC Accounts

Ready for the first tournaments of the year??

Saturday Sept 29th-- Chess in the Parks

Monday Oct 8-- Columbus Day Tournament

ICC accounts should be working. If yours is not, see Ms. Vicary immediately! Remember, you should be playing five or six games a week minimum if you want to keep your account!

The first back to school tournament was held on September14, 2007 at I.S. 318. Over 50 players battled it out in three sections. The Open section was won by Michael Peguero with a perfect score. The reserve section was won by Michael Amatulli! The beginner section was won by Jonathan Duran with a score of 5.5/6.

The team also went to the NY Met game on Friday evening. Fun was had by all.

A reminder----Chess Club begins this week. See Ms. Vicary in Room 319 for a permission slip.

For those students who are in Mr. Sher's Thursday group. The lessons will begin this Thursday.
