Daniel Wins!

In the tournament held today in the Bronx, Daniel Maciag took clear first by beating the super talented Justus Williams in the last round. The entire open team did well with sixth graders Randy Rivera and Joel Ogunremi posting some impressive upsets. Rochelle's victory streak came to an end as she was held to a draw in the last round by M. Jefferson. What a streak!

In the novice section, special congratulations go to Richard Wu and Danny Feng who both won 3.5 and led the novice team to a first place team finish.

Ms. Rochelle Does it Again!

Rochelle Ballantyne has done it AGAIN! She won her third consecutive Chess in the Schools tournament this weekend. The tournament was held at Frederick Douglas Academy on Martin Luther King Jr Day. Other top players included Alexis Paredes, Pobo Efekoro and Orlando Gonzalez. Our next tournament will be Saturday at CES 70 in the Bronx. Can Rochelle win four in a row ?
